We try: MacBook Air:

A small, light and simple notebook with great design and portability

After deciding to work for myself, one of my first investments was a computer.

I was after a compact device that I could easily travel with, stay in touch with others easily and also do the majority of my work on comfortably from my home office.

After a lot of research I purchased the 11-inch Apple Macbook Air 2013.

The notebook is exceptionally thin at 3mm thick. The trackpad is smooth and responsive, but I would allow time to get used to the Apple device if you are used to other brand of computers as it does take a bit of getting used to.

It’s a great looking device that has kept the same design from previous versions.

The 11-inch Apple Macbook Air now lasts up to nine hours between charges, so for most of the working day, you can operate unplugged.

When comes to kick relaxing, you can get up to eight hours of iTunes movie playback. It also offers up to 30 days of standby time, you can go away for weeks and pick up exactly where you left off.

Since purchasing the Apple Macbook, I have written countless documents, presentations and taken it to several countries. It’s durable and I haven’t had any technical problems with it.

The Apple Macbook air retails from $1,099 and comes with lots of great built in apps including iPhoto and FaceTime.

I definitely recommend it to others, wanting a compact notebook that is reliable and fun to use.

I give it four stars.

Pros

Excellent battery life, quick charge time

More than enough power for everyday tasks

Excellent design and build

Cons

Premium price tag

No built-in ethernet or DVD drive
