Are you tossing up whether to register for Ocsober? Unsure if you have the willpower to say ‘no’ to alcohol for 31 days? With four weeks left to sign up, here are 10 reasons why you should accept the challenge:

1.  Set a fine example for Aussie kids

Ocsober is all about exercising willpower, and so what better way to teach Aussie kids how to use theirs.

2. Head into summer feeling great!

Spring is a great time for a mini ‘detox’. Ocsober Ambassador and celebrity trainer on Bringing Sexy Back, Cameron Byrnes says you will reap the benefits of an alcohol free month, both inside and out.

3.  Raise money for a good cause

Sign up and you will be supporting Life Education to deliver health, drug and alcohol education programs in schools across Australia. Raising just $264 will enable Life Education to deliver important alcohol and drug education messages to a whole classroom of secondary students. So get fundraising!

4.  Set yourself a challenge

Push your limits and challenge yourself to say ‘no’ to alcohol for the whole month of October.

5.  Help raise awareness around alcohol issues

Another Ocsober Ambassador and Emergency Physician, Dr Stephen Parnis, says that too many Australians drink to excess, with over 40% exceeding safe drinking levels on at least one occasion over the past year. This Ocsober, help raise awareness by saying no to alcohol.

6.  Lose weight

Did you know there are 120 calories in a glass of wine and 170 in a schooner of beer?

7.  Find your team spirit

Create your own fundraising team and have fun participating as a group. Challenge each other to reach personal fundraising goals and lean on each other for support.

8.  Save money for a summer splurge

Think about the money you could save if you weren’t drinking for a month? Put the money aside for a summer escape or special reward!

9.  Embrace Saturday mornings!

Sick of spending half of the day in bed? With an alcohol free night you’ll wake up feeling better. Ocsober Ambassador Lola Berry loves waking up early on a Saturday and heading down to her local Farmers Market. Use October to get out exploring!

10.  Do it for yourself

Prove to no one other than yourself that you can go for a whole month without alcohol and feel good as you raise money to educate the next generation of Aussies.

Register now at www.ocsober.com.au and create your individual or team fundraising page and join participants around Australia in losing the booze this Ocsober.
