Are you hoping to create your next round of family memories these Christmas holidays? Whether you’re packing up with the whole family or planning a getaway with friends, it’s the perfect time to map out your travels for the busy season ahead.

To make the travel prep a little easier on #carafans, Caravanning Queensland shares five caravan parks to add to your itinerary this year!

1. BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park – Helensvale, Gold Coast

The Gold Coast region is one of the nation’s top spots for holidays, filled with action-packed activities and gorgeous beaches for the whole family to enjoy! Gold Coast’s BIG4 Holiday Park is located right across the road from the state’s world-renowned theme parks, including Movie World, Wet’n’Wild and Outback Spectacular, making it a terrific stop-in destination with the kids.

Dedicated to outdoor escapades, the park is also home to a monster water slide, a licensed on-site restaurant and oversized day beds for relaxation and rejuvenation.

2. Capricorn Caves Tourist Park – The Caves

Are you up for something adventurous this holiday season? Located 23 kilometres north of Rockhampton, Queensland’s Capricorn Caves is the perfect option for a family of active, enthusiastic explorers!

Set in a limeston ridge, the tourist attraction offers cave tours, rainforest walks and a cathedral experience in the hinterland. Along with a range of family-friendly activities. Capricorn Caves Tourist Park is known for it’s tranquility, convenience and peaceful environment, with a campground, caravan park, cabins and lodges available onsite.

3. Rivershore Resort – Sunshine Coast

If you’d like to keep your travel plans local, Rivershore Resort is a great spot to visit as it sits in the heart of Queensland’s glorious Sunshine Coast.

Located on the banks of Maroochydore River, the resort offers optimal space for your caravan or camper trailer with a range of amenities, along with luxurious safari tents if you’d like to mix it up and go #glamping! The “Rivershore Experience” includes mini golf, kayaking and paddle boards, plus a water slide for the kids.

4. Sommerville Valley Tourist Park – Stanthorpe

Located near the New South Wales border and a whopping 223 kilometres from Brisbane, Stanthorpe is the ideal getaway location if you’d like to venture on a long roadtrip full of sight-seeing and picturesque views.

After an unfortunate season faced with bushfires and drought, the region is still open and encouraging visitors to keep this beautiful destination thriving! Travellers should consider Sommerville Valley Tourist Park as an option for accommodation when venturing out bush, which is located on Storm King Dam where families can enjoy canoeing, boating and fishing along with the serenity of Queensland’s enchanting outdoors.

5. BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort – Airlie Beach

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort is another top spot for family holidays, with water parks and slides, mini golf, tennis and outdoor movies to keep the kids entertained.

A five minute drive from Airlie Beach’s town centre full of retaurants, boutiques and cafes, the park accommodation allows for easy access with your caravan and is situated amidst the central entertainment area. For parents looking for a place to relax, there’s a resort-style pool to cool off in and even a kids club abundant with activites – which is guaranteed to wear the kids out and put them to sleep nice and early!

Now that you’re sorted with destination inspiration, for all your caravan and camping needs Caravanning Queensland’s Let’s Go Brisbane Caravan and Outdoor Show will be rolling into the Brisbane Showgrounds from Thursday, October 31 to Sunday, November 3. If you’re looking to invest in your next family adventure, gates open from 9:30am to 5:00pm daily and tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for concession, with accompanied school-aged children free.
