Blaming technology is way to simplistic. The families that live in these communities face a complex set of social, financial, logistical and cultural barriers to participation in well organized an sustained sport and physical activity. The structured community club and school sport systems do not cater for the realities of these communities. Agreed that the way forward is independent non profit organizations that can tailor sporting opportunities to the needs of the people in low SES communities. Priority has to be given to FREE programs that are easily accessible. Schools absolutely have a central role in this.

I can highly recommend Kangaroo Island but you need to have kids who are engaged enough to enjoy the outdoors and the learning experiences. The average city teenager would be bored. Your right about the crayfish and other seafood.

Aren’t we forgetting the main issue here, which is the fact that dementia is a major social and health issue as people are living longer and family units and loyalties are less ‘traditional’.

I can vouch for Facebook. I’m a grandmother & took it up last year as my grandchildren are all over the world. It’s a wonderful way of keeping in touch with them but also lots of other people and I’ve learned so much.
