Cleaning a house requires time, effort, and the right cleaning products. To get the most out of your time, organise and store your cleaning materials in a way that is convenient for you.

As we all know, the kitchen sink is a popular location for cleaning supplies. However, if you have children, you may want to store your cleaning products in an out-of-reach place.

To get started storing your cleaning supplies like a professional, here are a few organisation suggestions for your home.

Gather all of Your Cleaning Rags in One Place

Aside from the actual cleaning products on your cleaning supplies list, keep track of where all of your cleaning rags are. If they’re all over the place, gather them together and store them in a canvas bag or a clearly labelled container. If a bunch are dirty, chuck them in the wash to get them ready for the next round of cleaning.

Evaluate Your Storage Capacity

Your cleaning products don’t need to be under the sink. A linen closet, a garage, or a hallway closet may be the best option for you, especially if you find yourself cleaning those areas regularly.

Ensure your storage location keeps your cleaning materials away from open fires and hot pipes. Always keep your cleaning tools in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. And as we mentioned before, keep cleaning materials out of the reach of children, dogs, or anybody else they might harm.

Declutter Your Cupboard

It's time to go through your cleaning supplies and see if you genuinely utilise anything there. You’d be surprised what get’s forgotten inside your cupboard. But if you haven't used a product in the last two months, it's time to get rid of it.

Use a Storage Caddy

A straightforward approach to organising your cleaning supplies is to keep a storage caddy full of your most regularly used cleaning products. Rather than sifting through your belongings each time, you can grab the caddy and get cleaning immediately.

Check the Labels

It's vital to remember that cleaning products are chemicals, and chemicals demand special treatment when storing them. Always read storage instructions on the product label, especially since several household cleaners pose a risk when combined.

For example, you should never store vinegar and bleach together.

Tips to Keep Your Cleaning Supplies Organised

Keep your list of cleaning supplies for the home organised with these helpful hints:

  • In a pull-out drawer in your kitchen, keep your supplies. Only if you don't store any food here will this work.)

  • You may save time by installing a lazy Susan under your sink.

  • Divide supplies and utensils into dusting, window cleaning, and stain treatment, and place each category in a clearly labelled storage bin.

  • Use a shopping cart with wheels or a tier-style rolling cart to transport cleaning supplies from room to room.

  • Store tiny cleaning supplies in a shoe organiser that hangs over the door.

  • You can use the shelves of a multi-tiered rack to store cleaning supplies in a closet or laundry room.

  • Installing a tension rod from which you can hang natural bench spray bottles creates additional storage space under sinks.

  • Set up designated storage for more oversized cleaning items, such as mops and vacuum cleaners, in a closet or laundry room so that you can quickly locate them when you need them.
