This year officially marks the 50th anniversary of Pizza Hut Australia! Aussies are invited to join in the celebration with a jaw-dropping 50,000 free pizza coupons up for grabs from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August between 4pm-6pm (AEST).
To make this celebration just that little bit tastier, Pizza Hut has picked the 50,000 Pan Pizzas according to Australia’s favourite five. Notably, the ‘Pan’ Pizza also celebrates its 40 th birthday! The mouth watering selection includes fan faves; Super Supreme, Pepperoni Lovers, BBQ Meat Lovers, Cheese Lovers and the most controversial pizza of all, Hawaiian. Perhaps this answers the most debated pizza topic, does pineapple belong on pizza after all?
The free pizza comes with a warm hug from Pizza Hut Australia, to celebrate the momentous milestone and more importantly to thank Aussies for their support over the years, as well as through the recent COVID-19 pandemic. A moment like this is guaranteed to bring back fond memories of coming together for all-you-can-eat pizza slices, salad and dessert bars, birthday parties and first dates - all through a shared love of pizza!
It all began in Australia back in 1970, when the first store opened in the South-West Sydney suburb of Belfield. The iconic, red-roofed restaurants soon became synonymous with family dining and for many Aussies now evoke a sense of nostalgia. Pizza Hut continues to modernise and now operates 265 restaurants, opening their newest in Parramatta a couple of weeks ago. With a presence in every state and territory in Australia; a real testament to the chain’s popularity amongst many Aussies!
From opening their first restaurant in 1970, Pizza Hut Australia continued to revolutionise by introducing delivery service in 1985. Iconic delivery boy ‘Dougie’ was the star of the 90’s ad classics, an Australian institution of the 90’s, he was the face of pizza delivery for Pizza Hut. We recently saw the return of Dougie to launch the ‘hot dot’ delivery guarantee and Pizza Hut Australia’s contactless
delivery and world-first contact-less pick-up service, providing a safety net and support during COVID-19.
“Pizza Hut Australia has been woven into the Australian fabric for 50 years, with four generations having grown up with our much-loved brand. Along with giving away the free pizzas, each day the website and social media channels will be dedicated to a different decade celebrating key moments in culture Look out for a delivery for Scott & Charlene! We want to thank all Aussies and join us in celebrating by looking back on such an enormous achievement; what better way to do it than free Pan Pizza!”, said Chief Marketing Officer, Chet Patel.
