VTech Electronics is extending its partnership with Save the Children Australia – what began as a local Australian activity is now a worldwide partnership.

Starting as support for Australian children during the 2020 bushfires and growing to a  global partnership following the onset of the pandemic, VTech has now donated over  4,400 electronic learning toys to children facing difficult circumstances in Australia, the US,  Canada, the UK, Netherlands, Spain, and Hong Kong through their work with Save the  Children.

“With schools closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has severely disrupted the education and social life of children, especially for those living in under-resourced communities. Our collaboration with Save the Children will not only enable children to continue to learn through play, but also let them know that we are thinking of and caring for them”, Dr Allan Wong, Chairman and Group CEO of VTech Electronics.

Children around the world have been able to stay connected, keep learning and continue to play and be kids during times of crisis.

And it's not just donations. VTech staff around the world have been getting involved,  giving back through writing letters to sponsored children and organising virtual fundraising events to support children facing hunger.

Last year, VTech and LeapFrog Australia’s ‘Learning Through This’  campaign received 1,000 drawings resulting in 1,000 toy donations to Save the Children. The campaign encouraged children or families to create a drawing that sent a message of hope and positivity to those in need. For every drawing shared, VTech donated 1 toy to Save the Children Australia, up to $50,000 worth of  VTech and LeapFrog toys. These toys were distributed to vulnerable families as part of Care Packages provided by the organisation to ensure that children are kept healthy, educated, and safe, while they endured extended periods of home isolation in Australia. VTech is excited to continue working to support Save the Children Australia with their ongoing efforts. How can you help? Donate now on http://www.savethechildren.org.au or give your VTech toys a second life by donating them to a Save the Children Op Shop near you. For further information on VTech and its products, visit http://www.vtech.com.au, or check out the VTech news on Facebook @ VTechANZ and Instagram @vtech_toys_anz.
