What a joy it is to wake up every morning ready to spring into action and do what needs to be done. Most days there are things to do, places to go, people to see, or perhaps a special activity to tackle. While it can be tempting to pull the blankets up and not do anything, the desire to put things off for as long as possible, needs to be snuffed out. After all, the aim of living is to enjoy being proactive, and to get on with undertaking worthwhile activities.

SPRING INTO ACTION AND MAKE IT HAPPEN NOW

There’s really no point in putting off until tomorrow what you can do today. One way or another, there are tasks that need to be done. It’s better not to delay or hesitate doing them, especially if you have the opportunity to complete them right away. There’s immense satisfaction in making something good happen, and ticking that to-do box. So how do you acquire that let’s-do-it vibe, that enables you to complete each job right away with energy and enthusiasm? Here’s a way a friend found to be successful.

If you wanted something done quickly, this friend wasn’t your man. Procrastinator was his middle name. However, yearning to be a man of action, he decided to quit viewing himself as someone who characteristically put off doing things until the last possible moment. Instead, he directed some good old-fashioned spiritual thinking towards himself. Whenever he had a job to do, he started by spiritually identifying himself as an I-can-do-it person. He frequently, and firmly, voiced the conclusion that a divine Power had created him to be a make-it-happen-now person, and this was his true nature. As a result of this spiritual thinking, he’s become a real go-to-man, who completes everything required of him in a timely manner.

4 TIPS TO HELP YOU SPRING INTO ACTION

- Don’t accept negative views of yourself, or your capabilities. Silence thoughts of doubt and reluctance. Affirm that infinite Spirit actually created you to be a keen, get-on-with-things, person.

- Be inspired to undertake tasks right away. Knowing what you have to do, isn’t enough. Be a “doer of the word and not a hearer only.” Bible. James 1:22-25

- Act with a sense of urgency. Remember, “We are all capable of more than we do”. Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health p.89

- Focus on starting the task at hand. Don’t wait around for the perfect moment before you spring into action. Be a can-do person right here and now. It’s good for your health.
