There are lots of ways how to spend your time during the pandemic. You can play a lot of online games for free and for real money on your PC and on your mobile device.

Last year the world was turned upside due to the pandemic. Today everyone knows what covid 19 is. The virus is primarily spread from person to person among those in close contact, within about 2 meters through the air when they talk, cough, speak, breath or sneeze. It spreads faster in enclosed spaces with poor ventilation. More than 220 million have had the disease and over 4 million died on the Globe.

To decrease the number of coronavirus cases, governments canceled concerts, closed museums and exhibitions. We had to change our plans, canceled trips, even went to work. The pandemic made us stay at home. And even now despite the fact that several COVID-19 vaccines were developed and many people have already been vaccinated we have to limit our outdoor activity. But this is not a reason to be sad. New technologies allow us to diversify our leisure time and enjoy ourselves without leaving the house.

What To Do Not To Be Bored At Home?

There are lots of indoor activities indeed. You can go into the arts, reading, watching films, making crafts, etc. Thanks to the messengers and internet, we don’t feel lonely. We don’t lose touch with our relatives and friends when staying at home. We can even visit world-known museums and galleries online. Many educational and entertainment companies, cultural centers and galleries made courses, podcasts and video broadcasts available for free or with discounts, in part or in whole. Some of them did it much earlier than the first news about the virus appeared.

What activities grew in popularity?

  1. Cooking – up to 49%

  2. Watching more TV – 39%

  3. Reading – 34%

  4. Listening to music – 32%

  5. Exercise – 29%

  6. Keeping up with social media – 26%

  7. Watching more internet video content – 20%

  8. Playing more video games – 16%

What to play?

During the pandemic the game of chess, which is already more than a half thousand years old, experienced a real renaissance. The Netflix series "The Queen's Move", which was released in 2020, set a new record. Over 62 million viewers watched it in the first 28 days.

It is not surprising that interest in chess immediately grew. The number of queries about chess has doubled in the Google search engine, sales of chess boards through online stores have increased, and the number of members registered on the chess.com increased fivefold!

Besides there are a huge number of other board games to be played such as checkers, backgammon, bingo, scratch cards and many more.

Some of these games, for example, bingo and scratch cards are also available in virtual casinos. During the pandemic 2020, online casinos also saw an increase of 15 per cent in betting. Online gambling venues offer a wide range of games for free and for real money to have a fantastic time and win at the same time. There you can choose from thousands of different slot machines, try your luck at roulette and test your skills while playing at blackjack or baccarat tables.

When you play at an internet casino and make real money bets, you don’t want to wait for weeks for your winnings to come to your account. What casinos try their best to guarantee safe and fast payouts? Here is our rating of the fastest payout Australian online casinos:

When people stayed at home last year, they also got a great possibility to know and learn something new. They could attend online courses, learn foreign languages, build their own websites, organize new businesses.

But not only internet activities grew in popularity. According to some research, there are significant increases in outdoor activity as well. They watch wildlife (up 64%), do gardening (57%), take pictures or paint in nature (54%), hike alone (58%), make their masked and distanced way on walks (70%).

People also experienced a shift in why they value nature. People say in nature they improve their sense of mental health and wellbeing (59%), exercise (29%), admiring nature’s beauty (29%), getting sense of identity (23%) and spirituality (22%).

There are lots of opportunities to organize your time while you are at home. Do what you want, but don’t forget about safety. If you’re unvaccinated, avoid crowded places, narrow paths. Choose routes that make it easy to keep your distance. Wear a mask indoors in public places and outdoors in places where there is a high risk of COVID-19 transmission. Choose activities that allow you to avoid covid-19 contamination.
