Snow in Sydney in November? You better believe it!:

It's been a cool November - and now Santa's feeling right at home at the QVB surrounded by occasional snow falls & crystals.

The central dome of one of Sydney’s most iconic buildings, the Queen Victoria Building, has been transformed into a giant snow dome

Snow will fall from the stained glass ceiling on to the 24 metre tall QVB Swarovski Christmas Tree at select times of the day for the next two weeks. The tree spans three levels and has 144,000 Swarovski crystal ornaments and 60,000 lights which took 72 people over a week to put together.

The snowfall in Sydney’s CBD is bound to captivate – as well as perhaps baffle – children as they wait their turn to have a chat with Santa who is starting work early this year.

This is the second year that the QVB Swarovski Crystal Garden has played host to Santa with his bejewelled Santa seat. Designed to replicate the pristine beauty of the North Pole, children will be transported to another world filled with crystal flowers, butterflies and blossom trees, all underneath a glittering canopy of suspended Swarovski crystal strands.

Each child who visits Santa at the QVB will receive a photo and traditional wooden toy.

QVB will also host a series of live musical performances during December, including Christmas carol singers, The Australian Girls Choir and live jazz sessions from The Acca Daiquiris.

A premium gift-wrapping service is also available for those who are not into gift wrapping in exchange for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to Barnardos.

Snow will fall at the QVB on Thursday at 6pm and Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon, 1pm and 2 pm from Saturday 17th November to Sunday 2nd December. Santa will stay even when the snow stops, and can be visited until he has to get going on Christmas Eve.
