Activewear has infiltrated our lives as the best way to feel comfortable even when you’re outside the gym. Being able to stay in your workout clothes long after you’re done jogging and lifting weights is usually practical yet time-consuming, but lots of mums around the world see all the benefits of staying in comfortable clothes most of the day. But, you need to understand that just because you want to stay comfortable and pick a more relaxed choice when it comes to clothing doesn’t mean you should lack style and lose your sense of fashion. Stick to a neutral palette

Fashion gives us a chance to show our personal style and sometimes that can be the biggest trap when it comes to choosing what to wear. Mixing different styles, just like combining sportswear with your everyday clothes, can be challenging enough, even after you’ve managed to find a good color combination. If you want to avoid adding too many colors and creating a cluttered and over-the-top look, stick to a neutral palette. It’s perfectly normal to mix styles, but if you take this idea too far, you can ruin your combination, no matter how much time you’ve spent thinking about it. To make sure you’re always spotless, create some rules for choosing your sportswear. For example, if you’re going to lunch with your friends or taking your kids to the park, basically any combination - depending on the place you’re going, of course - will do. On the other hand, if you’re going to a job interview, only a white shirt combined with pants and a black blazer is what you need to do.

Make sure it fits

Sometimes a desire to wear something can send us in the wrong direction and this usually goes for finding clothes that fit us without showing our flaws. If you want to be one of those mums who have the desire to show a certain part of their body and tell the world what they’ve managed to accomplish in the gym, focusing on just one particular part of their outfit will help them accentuate it. For example, if you’ve just finished a series of leg routines and want to show off your spotless muscles, leggings are perfect for you - they are easily paired with any type of clothing and you can combine them with anything from a blazer to a one-colored shirt and a jacket. When wearing athletic clothes, thee need to fit your body perfectly because you’ll show off your flaws otherwise and ruin the rest of the wardrobe.

Learn how to layer

Layering is a big part of any type of fashion style and the same goes for wearing sports combinations. Simple sportswear topped off with different pieces that will cover it up could be your go-to for most of your busy daily schedule. This is also a nice opportunity to wear leggings because they can be blended into the rest of the combination and help you tone down a sporty combination. This will also give your athletic style a new dimension allowing you to play with different colors, accessories, and materials regardless of the season. You’ll see how layering comes in handy during fall and winter days when you want to wear something a bit more relaxing, but wish to feel warm at the same time as well.

Don’t forget to accessorize

Accessories are more than welcome and they can be the perfect way to round up your combination. This will allow you to dress up your athletic sense of fashion and help you adjust the combination for a more formal opportunity. You can be subtle and add small pieces that will be a nice touch and a simple reminder that you know the importance of dressing for the occasion, or go big and shift the attention to your jewelry. In addition to that, shoes are always a nice touch if you want to achieve a certain look and wear one combination on multiple occasions.


Just because you’re a mum doesn’t mean you can’t combine your sporty look with any other personal style, so follow these simple rules when it comes to dressing up, and start using these ideas ASAP!
