Your big party is behind the corner, and serious preparation is yet to happen. Where should you start? Regardless of the type of the party (birthday, anniversary, baby shower or even a formal party), great hosts will have plenty on their plate before they can start mingling with their guests. When it comes to organizing events, the best move is taking a pen and a piece of paper to make a list of necessary steps.

You’ll need to include a list of guests, provide food and drinks, get rid of junk, etc. Those steps will lead to a great party, and below are some of the most crucial ones.

Choose the right space for the right purpose.

It’s very important to predict where the core of the party will be. Therefore, look around your home and decide which rooms will be used for the upcoming event. Make sure to use the biggest room in the house, so your guests can feel comfortable. If your closet isn’t big enough, decide which room will take its place and become a temporary coat storage.

Give a call to your friends and family.

It’s self-explanatory that you’ll need to call your guests, but this call is about recruiting some help. Choose few of your closest friends and family members to assist you in the organization. It can be a party before a party. Their presence will unburden you a bit and you’ll go faster through your checklist.

Start with cleaning the house and prepare for possible emergencies.

After you’re done with pre-party dusting and cleaning your place, keep in mind that some of your clumsier guests may provide you with a stain or two. In order to get ready for those mishaps, make sure to buy some products for stain removal, or even make your own. Once you’re stacked with them, you don’t have anything to worry about.

Make enough room for the guests.

Decluttering is maybe the most important task on your to-do list. In order to make your invitees feel comfortable at your home, you’ll need to make some room for them, so they can move freely through the house. Some parts of furniture can be easily moved to another room, but if there are a lot of big pieces, you may consider putting them in storage if only until after you’ve done partying. There are plenty of those storage units in your area, but be very cautious when choosing one. You don’t want your stuff broken, and you would like to spare yourself of heavy lifting. It may depend on where you live, but there are numerous options for storage Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane have to offer. All you have to do is choose what best suits your needs. After you’re done with this task, you’ll get plenty of spare time on your hands, which will be very useful if you’re on a tight schedule.

You’re almost there.

After you’re done with all of the main arrangements, you are at last able to get your creative side to emerge. Last few hours before the party can be used for decorating the party area. If your friends did their job well, you’ll have plenty of balloons, banners and other items that will assist you to make your party an unforgettable experience for everybody. You may even consider making a theme party: think about your favorite movies, celebrities or periods in history, and prepare the stage for everybody lucky enough to attend your event.

If you’ve got yourself well organized, you can save your self a lot of stress during the party. The lack of time and your everyday responsibilities may frighten you, but keep in mind that you’re doing something both you and your friends will enjoy. Your good vibes will be picked up by your guests, and your upcoming party will be one of those that gets mentioned in future friendly anecdotes. Some of your guests may even come to you for party planning advice. Once you’re done with everything mentioned above (catering, cleaning, decluttering etc.), the best thing is to enjoy yourself and party on!
