Motherpedia Gift Idea #3:

Does your child know how a garden grows?

If your child loves gardens or plants, this is a great way of encouraging and nurturing that interest.

Mr Fothergill’s has a new Little Gardeners range, which is a fun collection of everything you need to grow a plant in a delightful colourful pot. They are another perfect gift for 'stocking fillers' that include the soil mix, the seeds, recipe ideas using what they're growing, an activity sheet, stickers, soil pellets and easy to follow instructions.

The Little Gardeners range helps kids learn the benefits of watching something they started growing as well as what's needed to keep a plant alive and healthy.

There are smaller (500ml) Windowsill Pots that include a variety of edible options but which are healthier than the usual 'sweet', as well as tasty, affordable and from their own green thumb! Varieties include a lemonade plant (lemon balm), mini strawberry (Alpine Strawberry) and lolly.

The larger Grow and Create Pots (1,500ml) come in gorgeous bright colours of orange, pink, yellow and blue containing tickling mimosas, mini sunflowers, mini tomato and a flower power mix of gorgeous blooms. The pots are reusable and come packaged with stickers, activity sheets, quizzes and colouring-in.

You can buy Mr Fothergills Litte Gardener sets at Bunnings, Kmart and indepdent garden retailers or online at www.mrfothergills.com.au. They are well-priced from $4 to $10 and are a lovely addition to include under the Christmas tree, and to help keep children active and occupied during the school holidays.
