The status of Perth as one of the best cities in the world to live in brought along a sharped increase in the number of people who chooses it as a holiday destination. On the bright side, Perth is a great place to visit: both the urban areas and the surroundings are packed with exciting things to do. So, where to go first, what to do next? After researching the (many) tour options available at Perth, we’ve chosen three. Here’s our Top Perth Tour list, our selection of the best things to do in the City of Lights:

1. Swan Valley Wine Cruises. Paraphrasing the first man that explored the area, you’ll get to see ‘the richness of the soil, the bright foliage of the shrubs, the majesty of the surrounding trees, the abrupt and red color banks of the river occasionally seen, and the view of the blue mountains’. Oh, and you’ll get to see all of that on a cruise, while tasting wine from the different (and excellent) local producers and eating three-course gourmet meals. Ready to sit back and enjoy the view?

2. Adventures in Rottnest Island. Perfect beaches, shipwrecks and quokkas: Rottnest Island is one of Perth’s most amazing tours. High-speed ferries depart from both Perth and Fremantle, and you can choose to visit in the morning or the afternoon. Wildlife will be there from the very beginning: dolphins and seals are usually spotted from the boat. In addition, visitors to Rottnest Island are usually given free time to wander around and explore the place at will. While it’s a fun trip for virtually every person out there, families with children usually get the best out of it: Rottnest Island is a ride into adventure.

3. History, on swift wheels. Perth is a city with a rich, beautiful history, and it features tons of historical heritage in an excellent state of conservation. Plus, it’s a bike-friendly hub, which by extension means Segway-friendly. The only advice is to get your camera ready, because the tours are packed with photo ops at every stop. Segway staffers are, by rule, trained, professional and very informed: it’ll be a wonderful ride, and the odds tell that you’ll end up learning something new about Perth.
