Why Are Millennials Joining Dental Service Organisations?:

Dental organisations are becoming more known these days, here's why.

The current dental industry comprises more than 42% of boomers or dentists aged 55 or older. But, it is changing with the growing number of millennials entering the workforce for several reasons, including financial security. The latter reason is that the model offered within Dental Service Organisations seems more viable based on several factors.

Why is DSO Practice an Ideal Profession in 2022?

Millennials have brought about several trends in the global industries across different sectors. Among them all, the 'Quiet Quitting' is an unfortunate trend that arose in the Post-Pandemic times. It mainly concerns the lack of a work-life balance due to 'work from home' habits, which is relatively simpler to manage by joining DSOs.

Likewise, working with Dental Service Organisations or indulging in the profession has several other benefits Millennials have come to recognise.

1. Salary & Additive Benefits

Good pay has been known to be a magnet for attracting millennials across various industries, but DSOs exceed as compared to others. The average figure of what a dentist earns in Australasia regions is still significantly higher than working IT jobs.

It is a crucial comparison because millennials globally aren't shy about working jobs that are different from their qualifications. Millennials, in fact, currently represent a whopping 65% of the global workforce across all industries.

The additive benefits of joining DSOs are free health care, insurance benefits and others, which Millenials know cost a fortune when taken from third- parties.

2. Location Flexibility

Millennials are shown to readily quit a workplace in favour of working somewhere more exotic. Based on such patterns, it is now common to find DSOs in less known cities who hire tooth implant professionals and others with good economic pay.

A fine example of it is represented in a Korean Drama known as Hometown Cha Cha Cha, where the lead is a dental practitioner who sets up her own practice in the fictional town of Gongjin. Fiction aside, the shooting location is Pohang, a less densely populated town offering exotic views and surroundings bereft of skyscrapers.

3. Social Independence

Millennials love their holidays a little too much and their phones or digital devices all the more. By practising dentistry privately and offering affordable dental implant treatments, they get their own independence to do what they want when they want.

Surely, millennials appear less serious about their professional careers, but they certainly don't want to live like boomers, i.e., working at the same organisation without growing sporadically over the term. Hence, by joining DSOs, they obtain both freedom and economic independence that lets them live the way they prefer.

Drawbacks of Working at DSOs & Workarounds!

As with everything having its pros shadowed by cons, so does joining or establishing DSOs. But, millennials, the fixer-uppers or the laziest but smartest in the shed, have their workarounds to tackle the drawbacks.

  • Predetermined work hours

One of the ways by which they tackle this is by strictly adhering to the hours of work or by picking the DSOs offering ideal working hour timings. Remember, as pop culture puts it, Millennials will quit a job that they feel is 'soul draining'.

  • Limited Vacationing Flexibility

The only way they live with the stringent vacationing policy rules is by picking a beautiful city when joining a DSO. Yet, another way by which they come to terms with it is by taking scenic routes to and from their workplace to their homes.

  • Fixed Insurance Plans

Millennials have long understood that any health insurance is better than having none. Although it's a late bloomer trait, it is one of the few areas where they can consider a compromise, and they do. Indeed, they compensate for it by eating healthier foods- most of them are already 30 years of age, remember?

Popular Services Demanded at Dental Service Organisations!

Three primary dentistry services are driving the DSO chains, and they comprise the following:

Dental Aligners

Getting whiter teeth has always been popular, but having them aligned symmetrically is raising the revenue chart of DSOs. Even between the ages of 23 and 29, adult millennials seek treatments to have perfectly aligned teeth.

Not for nothing, though, their apps like TikTok and other social platforms that allow them to create portrait reels, videos, and clips are the driving force behind the increased need for clear aligners over traditional braces.

Dental Implant Treatments

Surprisingly, millennials on the cusp of the age of 30 are becoming responsible for maintaining positive oral habits. It has naturally boosted the demand for obtaining low dental implant cost Brisbane Treatments, primarily because of seeking Wisdom Teeth Removal Services.

Another reason Root canal treatments are on the rise is the candy-chowing days the millennials spent during their childhood years. Yeah, payback is a benign bridge.

Dental Bridges

Speaking of bridges, the ageing parents of the 30-year-old millennials are boomers with severe dental problems now. In succession to it, statistical data backs the impending growth in seeking Root Canal Treatments.
