Even though your children go to school to improve their mental and physical state, it is up to you as a parent to work with your child as well. The more you work with your child, the more they will excel. The best way to help your child learn is by making working fun. There are several activities that you can do with your child that will improve their mental and physical development, while they have fun.

Take Them to the Playground

The playground is a great way to improve your child's physical development. Most school playground equipment Australia has bridges for walking to improve your child's balance. They also have swings, which can help your child develop balance. Swinging also requires your child to coordinate shifting weight and pumping their legs back and forth. Climbing up equipment and going up and down the slide is also a great way to improve your child's physical development.

Reading Together

Reading is a great way to improve your child's mental development. When a child starts reading at an early age, it can result in a lifelong love for books. If your child is too young to read, you should make it a point to read to them each day. As they start learning, you can have them read it out to you.

Cooking Together

Cooking with your child is a great way to improve their gross motor skills as well as improve their physical development. You can have your child measure out the ingredients, which takes hand-eye coordination. When they are reading and following the recipe, they are improving their mental development. Finally, cooking is a skill that will come in handy throughout your child's life.

Playing Hopscotch

Hopscotch requires hopping and jumping, both of which challenges your child's motor skills. When your child is playing hopscotch, they will be able to develop their balance, coordination, and muscles. After your child has mastered the traditional hopscotch pattern, you can create new ones. This will make the game more challenging. You can also put markers on the squares that your child must skip and jump over. You can set up the game outdoors with sidewalk chalk or indoors with colored tape.

Drawing with Stencils

Having your child draw pictures and write words using stencils is great for your child's motor skills and hand-eye coordination. You can find packages of stencils at most craft stores, which will make it easy to find a stencil kit that your child will enjoy. After your child has finished drawing the picture, you should have them color it. When they are finished with their masterpiece, you can hang it up on the wall for them to be proud of.

Addition and Subtraction Flashcards

Addition and subtraction flashcards are a great way to work on maths problems with your child. If your child is just starting to learn to add and subtract, you can use jellybeans to help them count out the answer. If they get the answer correct, the jellybeans will be an excellent reward for their hard work. You can either buy the flashcards at the store or you can make your own.

Playing Jump Rope

Playing jump rope is a great way for your child to improve their balance and accelerate physical development. It will also help them build their muscles. Your child may start out slow, but in time, they will be jumping rope like a professional.

Children will do the majority of their learning at school, however, it is up to you as a parent continue that learning outside of the classroom.
