Sixteen is a big milestone for any girl. Throwing your daughter the perfect sweet sixteen, however, doesn’t have to be extremely expensive. There are many ways to throw a picturesque, fun party without spending too much. All you need are simple decorations like balloons and confetti and ingredients to make a great food spread for her and her friends. Here is an easy guide to throw your daughter the perfect sweet sixteen on a budget:

1. Have a Budget

Before you begin, figure out a budget. You can easily throw a great party with just enough money to buy a few balloons and food ingredients. Choose the budget, and stick to it. There’s no reason to go over the amount of money you have set out.

2. Determine What Your Daughter Really Wants

Throwing a surprise sweet sixteen can either go very well or very poorly. Your best bet is to ask your daughter and have her approve of the party plan ideas beforehand. You can work out what she really wants for her party and plan from there.

3. Prepare the Food at Home

Preparing the food at home will always be much cheaper – even for regular party food like pizza. You can save on the price and on the waste. Instead of ordering a lot from a delivery service, pop a few frozen pizzas in the oven. The best part is that this ensures that there is always hot pizza available when people want it.

4. Prepare the Music Playlist

The key to any successful party is to have a great playlist. This area, however, should be up to your daughter. She can choose the playlist entirely by herself or she can get her friends to help and build the perfect party playlist.

5. Make it Instagram-Worthy

Instagram is the app most used by young people, and the chance to get the perfect Instagram photo is the perfect party addition for any sweet sixteen – all you need is a photoshoot area. You can hang a sheet for a background in a well-lit area, or you can go to your local hardware store and pick up some wallpaper to hang. Either way, all you need is a backdrop, good lighting, and a camera. Today, this could mean something as simple as a cell phone. This is a great way to make the party fun and to give her great photos after.

6. Combine the Party with the Gift

If your daughter only has a few close friends, you can put the party budget instead towards something as amazing as a concert for her favorite artist. Concert tickets can be reasonable and the chance to see her favorite artist will be an amazing birthday party and birthday gift.

The best sweet sixteen is one where your daughter and her friends can have a great time. Good food and decorations are icing on the cake, but a concert or other fun event with her friends is a great way to make her birthday perfect.
