Throw Nothing Away!:

11 Ways to Repurpose Kitchen Utensils

Dont throw anything away
One of the best parts of home & interior decoration is repurposing. When an object or utensil exhausts the purpose it was originally made for, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it should be discarded. Here’s when repurposing (along with creativity and craft) comes powerfully into scene, offering an array of new and exciting possibilities for that old stuff. Examples? We’ve compiled a list of 11 ways of repurposed kitchen utensils for you to try:

1. The Patisserie’s Chandelier. How? Whisks and a lamp. It’s amazing how such a simple and dispensable utensil can work when repurposed. A great way to add a French patisserie’s feel to your kitchen!

2. One for the romantics. When was the last time you had a long, relaxing bath, away from the outside world? In that scene, candles can’t be left out. Thing is, candle holders are not that practical – they get messy and soapy when left over the bathtub’s edges. The solution? Old, hanging spoons repurposed as candle holders.

3. What if I want candles in my living room? Good question. The answer: whisks. Again, they serve multiple purposes and make excellent tealight holders.

4. If it’s old, there’s a use for it. Don’t want to eat with your old set of spoons and feel too attached to throw them into the garbage? Vintage spoons are very sought for crafting cabinet handlers. Don’t they look amazing?

5. They might not be good for pie anymore, but they’re still good. Pie plates can be easily repurposed into desk organizers. If you enjoy all things vintage, don’t throw those away!

6. What phrase inspires you? We all have one, or a fistful of. Repurposing old baking pans into lamps is something that can be done the inspirational way.

7. The cozy feeling of home. We all have something that reminds us from home. It can be a smell, a sound, a squeak or creak. Windchimes have been part of these familiar feelings from centuries. Don’t have one yet? Maybe it’s time to find that old silverware a good use.

8. What is art? We’re not going to get into that now. But you can make some while you think of an answer. With old kitchen utensils, options go as far as your imagination does.

9. Old is the new cool. Well, not always. But it can be, when properly repurposed. Look at this iPad holder. Doesn’t it fit perfectly in every iPad owner’s home?

10. Your favorite recipe should have a special place. Wood engraving is, in most places, an inexpensive service. And it’s a lovely way to turn an old cutting board into a beautiful object – or gift for someone you love.

11. A taste of the world. If you, like us, happen to love condiments, you’ll know the importance of keeping them organized and available. How? Old loaf pans. As easy as it looks.
