Whoever knew ice cream says so much?:

So it might not exactly be ice cream weather in most parts of Australia – but that doesn’t matter, does it? Is there really a time when ice cream is more desirable than another time?

No. We didn’t think so either. So here’s a bit of Friday fun.

The world’s largest ice cream chain, Baskin Robbins has conducted research on what a person’s favourite ice cream flavour says about them.

They partnered with Dr Alan Hirsch, a neurologist and psychiatrist who is a smell and taste expert and founder of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. Baskin Robbins asked Dr Hirsch to look at popular Baskin Robbins ice cream flavours and what their choice suggests about someone's personality.

Dr Hirsch says the findings uncovered some interesting insights into ice cream fans' unique characteristics.

"We uncovered quite a few surprising findings when investigating what a person's favourite ice cream flavour says about their personality.

"For instance, we found that people who prefer Rainbow Sherbet are more pessimistic than you would think, in spite of the bright taste profile, and that those who prefer Rocky Road are actually very good listeners," Dr Hirsch said.

Here are some of the results from the study:

Vanilla:  you're more likely to be impulsive, easily suggestible and an idealist.

Chocolate:  you're more likely to be dramatic, lively, charming, flirtatious, seductive and gullible.

Very Berry Strawberry:  you're more likely to be a tolerant, devoted and an introvert.

Mint Chocolate Chip:  you're more likely to be argumentative, frugal and cautious.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:  you're more likely to be ambitious, competitive and a visionary.

Pralines'nCream:  you're more likely to be loving, supportive and prefer to avoid the spotlight.

Jamoca (a coffee flavour):  you're more likely to be scrupulous, conscientious and a moral perfectionist.

Chocolate Chip:  you're more likely to be generous, competent and a go-getter.

Rainbow Sherbet:  you're more likely to be analytical, decisive and a pessimistic.

Rocky Road:  you're more likely to be aggressive, engaging and a good listener.

What's your favourite?
