Yet another article about the beauty of being pregnant? Not this time. Pregnancy, as you may know, has its ups and downs. It’s loaded with thrilling moments, but not everything is wine and roses. Actually, it’s not wine at all, and for the roses, well, good luck with that.
For the majority of women who are used to a more or less fast-paced life, pregnancy brings along a lot of spare time that just wasn’t there before. Thing is, having lots of spare time while being pregnant is not the same that ‘regular’ spare time. It’s not like you can go for a run, take a long trip abroad or go bar-hopping with friends. Welcome to the world of pregnancy’s long hours, where boredom is always waiting for an opportunity to become king.
However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Many, many things may be out of the question – doctor’s advice, of course – but not everything. Today, we bring three alternatives to kill that time that doesn’t seem to slip away.
1. Knitting. Also known as the ancestral art of killing pregnancy’s long hours. It’s entertaining, time-consuming and useful. Bootees, little scarfs and tiny sweaters await in a ball of yarn. Hands on!
2. Indulgence time. Go to a spa. Get a massage. Go online shopping. Eat the most delicious things – all that you always craved for before! All in a reasonable manner, of course.
3. Time to play! Don’t want to walk? Don’t feel like cooking or shopping? There’s a wide world of entertainment waiting for you in your home’s screens. Watch a movie, or an entire series. Go amok with games like Farm Heroes Saga. Feeling truly competitive? Play with the big names at the big leagues!
As we pointed out before, being pregnant has its ups and downs. Our intention is to soften the low points – which often involve moments of uneasiness, discomfort and plain boredom – in order to get the best of that beautiful experience. As the saying goes: each to their own! Enjoy your pregnancy!
