What to Really Expect When You’re Expecting:

Here's what you really need to know when you're pregnant.

Having a baby is one of the most special things in the world, and being able to bring a child into this world is something you’ll cherish for the rest of your life. But, this is something we already know, right? Every expecting mom knows how special and amazing her life is going to be but does every future mom know how challenging, difficult, and tiring it’s going to be as well? Well, unfortunately not, and that’s why lots of new moms have a problem when reality hits them hard. So, what should you really expect while you’re expecting and how can you prepare for your future in a more adequate and successful manner?

Non-stop tiredness

The problem with being tired after giving birth is the fact that there’s no way to explain this – how tired you’re going to get and how long this feeling is going to last can’t be put in words. Still, there are two things that are certain: on the one hand, you’re going to feel more tired than you’ve ever felt in your life, no matter how young, physically active, and fit you are, but, on the other hand, this will eventually pass.

Another thing you need to remember is that feeling sleepy, tired, and weak after delivering a baby is quite normal, so don’t worry if you’re feeling this way all the time. What you need to do is find a way to get some rest and don’t be afraid to do that whenever you can. As soon as you put your baby down, go to bed yourself and sleep as much as possible. Also, ask your partner, your friends, and your family to help you, and you won’t have such a hard time getting some rest.

Constant pain

Regrettably, feeling tired isn’t the only consequence of having a baby you’re going to experience. Depending on your labor and your baby’s feeding schedule, you may feel numbness and pain for quite some time, from several days to a couple of months. This is particularly true for women who have had C-sections because this delivery method leaves you in pain sometimes longer than you’ve expected.

In addition to that, if you decide to breastfeed, your breasts and nipples will feel sore almost 24/7, especially if your baby takes a long time to finish its meal. These are the things that scare some future moms, which is why, unfortunately, some of them decide not to breastfeed. But, if you get ready for this pain and know why you’re enduring it – for the future and well-being of your baby – you won’t have a problem with it.

Baby’s development

When it comes to learning more about the appearance of their unborn babies, there are two kinds of moms in this world – those who want to know as much as they can, and those who prefer being surprised. If you’re one of those who’d like to know everything, you need to track your baby’s development and consult your doctor regularly when it comes to the looks and the size of your baby.

Luckily, this process doesn’t have to end after you give birth – on the contrary, this is when you can take photos of your child as often as you want, save them, and share them with your friends and family. Doing that won’t be easy, but if you use a handy Mumli baby development app that helps you do these things more easily, you won’t have a problem with wasting too much time.

No sleep in the third trimester

Not being able to sleep, not having a moment to yourself, not being able to think clearly, and being tired all the time are just some of the things you need to expect after giving birth but don’t forget that these things happen while you’re still pregnant as well. Lack of sleep is one of those things, so don’t worry if that happens to you too.

Most women suffer from insomnia during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, and it can get even worse if they’re pregnant in the middle of the summer. So, get ready for this possibility ahead and find ideas that will help you sleep. Get more rest, drink fewer fluids, and try to minimize your stress – and you’ll sleep like a baby!

Admittedly, having a child is a difficult yet magical experience, and it all comes down to being prepared and ready. So, start doing that ASAP and learn what you can expect while expecting!
