Aussie women not so obsessed with shoes:

How many pairs of shoes a year do you buy? If you buy more than 4 pairs, you’re above average according to a new study by Ziera shoes.

The shoe brand recently undertook a comprehensive survey on Australian and New Zealand women’s shoe buying habits with some surprising results. Even though splurging on shoes makes us Aussie women feel good, we’re not as bad as perhaps our males partners think on the shoe buying front.

In a nutshell, Ziera’s survey found:

  • The average Australian woman buys around 4.3 pairs of shoes a year; will spend around $301; at an average of $70 per pair
  • The average Kiwi woman buys 3.8 pairs a year; will spend around $280; at an average of $74 per pair

They may have Carrie Bradshaw, but the average American woman buys less shoes than her Aussie or Kiwi counterparts.

  • In the US, the average number of shoes bought per year is 3, at an average of $US49 per pair ($AUD46), totalling $US147 ($AUD137) per year (source: ShopSmart Magazine)

However, the country with the most shoe addicts (who go for quantity over quality) is Britain.

  • In the UK, the average number of shoes bought per year is 8, at an average of 36 pounds ($AU53) per pair, totalling 285 pounds ($AUD419) per year (source: The Daily Mail)

I spend way more than that and think I buy more than 4 pairs a year. Where can you buy shoes for $70?

I have just been into your New Plymouth store to purcahse another pair of Travelwalker Black shoes.
They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn and keep there shape beautifully.
Your shop assistansts are extremely helpful and great to deal with.
Please keep this range of shoes available in the future.

I made a purchase from Ziera yesterday morning and had a very pleasant shopping experience.  I was served by Sue, who went the extra mile finding me a nice pair of slippers.

Any shoes bought from Ziera is guaranteed to be comfortable par excellance.

A nice shop with charming staff.

Thank you

I didn’t go into the shop to buy shoes although I did want a pair of smart flatish black shoes at some date. I asked for directions from Carol and she willingly gave definite instructions on how to find the pharmacy. On the way back I thought I’d have a quick look around. Carol was on her own at the time and manage to attend to my initial enquires with a friendly and helpful manner whilst also serving other customers. Later on - I take a while as one foot seems to be a bit smaller than the other - Carol returned and helpfully showed me how to solve the problem with an insert underneath the inner sole.
