Getting properly rested will do wonders for your body, but it’s time you knew the epic potential of good sleep hygiene. Just so you visualize what it could do for you, let us tell you that sleeping well can be just like winning the lottery.

While this comparison may be rather hard to grasp at first, there is solid scientific evidence backing it up. A recent study conducted by the University of Warwick has analyzed the effects that improving sleep hygiene has on the body.

They have concluded that the positive effects of getting well rested has on the body are in fact similar to those of winning a $200,000 prize in the lottery. Dr. Nicole Tang of the Department of Psychology, the leader of the study, and her team of psychologists have analyzed more than 30,500 UK residents over a period of four years.

Winning a lottery jackpot worth as much as $200,000 would definitely bring about an initial adrenaline rush, followed by a long-term increase in dopamine levels. This is very likely to happen because this amount would be enough to provide solid financial stability, which would reduce the winner’s overall stress levels.

Moreover, having a budget fit for almost any idea or project would most likely trigger an overall improvement in the person’s mental state. While sleeping properly may not give out the initial adrenaline rush, it could generate the long-term improvement in mental state that winning the lottery would.

Curiously, there are some similarities between the proper way to increase your quality of sleep and that of winning the lottery. The essential element is to create a constructive routine. If you want to increase your chances of becoming a lottery winner, then playing the lottery on a regular basis is definitely your best option. You can even play every single day to get closer to that jackpot.

As for improving your sleep, creating a nightly routine that would help you feel calm, relaxed, and safe as you go to sleep would ensure a significant progress even after a few days. But like any good habit, you will have to keep it up for an extended period of time to see the benefits.

If you play the lottery regularly, then one day your big win is bound to come up. And it is the same for sleeping; if you maintain your sleep hygiene routine for a longer time, then you will get to experience the immense benefits that come along with it.

So, if you want to make a change in your life, then start by getting high-quality sleep because it will do wonders for you. And if you want to test out Dr. Tang’s theory, then put in lottery tickets on a regular basis and you may just to find out for yourself what it feels like to be a winner.
