They have concluded that the positive effects of getting well rested has on the body are in fact similar to those of winning a $200,000 prize in the lottery. Dr. Nicole Tang of the Department of Psychology, the leader of the study, and her team of psychologists have analyzed more than 30,500 UK residents over a period of four years.

Winning a lottery jackpot worth as much as $200,000 would definitely bring about an initial adrenaline rush, followed by a long-term increase in dopamine levels. This is very likely to happen because this amount would be enough to provide solid financial stability, which would reduce the winner’s overall stress levels.

Moreover, having a budget fit for almost any idea or project would most likely trigger an overall improvement in the person’s mental state. While sleeping properly may not give out the initial adrenaline rush, it could generate the long-term improvement in mental state that winning the lottery would.

Curiously, there are some similarities between the proper way to increase your quality of sleep and that of winning the lottery. The essential element is to create a constructive routine. If you want to increase your chances of becoming a lottery winner, then playing the lottery on a regular basis is definitely your best option. You can even play every single day to get closer to that jackpot.

As for improving your sleep, creating a nightly routine that would help you feel calm, relaxed, and safe as you go to sleep would ensure a significant progress even after a few days. But like any good habit, you will have to keep it up for an extended period of time to see the benefits.
