Mother's Day already went by, but here at Motherpedia, we are not yet done celebrating mums! There are just so many things outside a woman's maternal role that should be celebrated every day, like their achievements in their personal lives and the business arena.

Mums today are becoming more and more active in the business setting as a growing number are trying their hand at mumpreneurship. It is not a surprise since mums have the innate skill and determination in growing successful businesses!

Ever heard entrepreneurs say that their business is their "baby"? Mumpreneurs blossom in the business world simply because starting a business is just like birthing to a new child and caring for it so it reaches its full potential. Much like raising their own children, mumpreneurs also face similar obstacles when growing a business. Being quick thinkers and fast at adapting to different situations, mums are able to cope up with all the challenges that come with starting their own business.

For mums who are about to dive into entrepreneurship:

  1. Expect a lot of hurdles at the beginning. However, do not let these challenges stop you from achieving your vision for your business. Instead of letting these obstacles stop you, find the guts to do things differently.
  2. Expect to juggle family life and the business. Starting and running a business is a 24/7 job. Mums need to learn to juggle time for the family and time for the budget to make the set up work.
  3. While starting a business can be exhausting, know that there is support out there...and you will find it from other mums going through the same thing as you!

If you are also a mumpreneur just starting out, you can find more inspiration from these 7 mumpreneurs as well as some tips to help you through difficult times.
