Breastfeeding mothers who struggle with retaining modesty while nursing have a new option called ‘Undercover Mama’.
Undercover Mama is a strapless camisole that attaches directly to any standard nursing bra and can be worn under any top - allowing mothers to wear exactly what they want while breastfeeding. It’s a simple, yet highly practical, concept invented by an American mother of five a years ago.
“After my baby was born, I wanted to wear my regular clothes again,” said founder Elisa Op’t Hof.
“The problem I faced was exposing my side, back and belly when I lifted my shirt to nurse. I wanted something to cover my skin while nursing, but didn’t want to deal with more clasps or flaps.”
Ms Op’t Hof designed Undercover Mama to work with a woman’s regular wardrobe without the need to purchase separate tops especially for breastfeeding.
“The best thing about Undercover Mama is that it hooks onto any nursing bra,” said Ms Op’t Hof.
She explained that for breastfeeding access, the Undercover Mama stays attached to the bra flap while in use without extra straps or flaps, and covers a mother’s torso when she lifts her regular shirt to nurse her baby.
Undercover Mama shirts are made from a non-piling and non-bunching cotton/spandex blend and are available in sizes XS to 2XL. They come in a variety of colors for easy coordinating with a regular wardrobe.
