4 important reasons for buying a new air conditioning system:

Why you need to dump your old AC

In the period comprehended between 1990 and 2015, the number of Australian households with air conditioning systems went from 30% to almost 80%. In other words, during the last couple of decades, the people said ‘enough’ to the country’s typical heat waves and threw themselves over air conditioning systems like flies to fruit. This can be taken as an understandable behavior, at least to anyone who had the pleasure of experiencing our beloved summers. Truth is that there’s no shame in desiring to stay comfortable – and, at the same time remain productive – during the course of the long, hot months of the Australian summer.

In the meantime, critics pointed out that the massive adoption of air conditioning systems was bad for the environment, adding that they put too much stress on the national energy grids. To be fair, these claims are partially true, but it is also true that in many regions of the country life without AC can be extremely challenging.

However, it is indeed vital to take good care of the environment, and this – along with other 3 important reasons – is why we’re making a case for dumping that old AC for a new one:

1. Old ACs use highly pollutant refrigerant agents. And that is why Europe, and more recently the US, have pushed new regulation to avoid the use of toxic refrigerant agents in new AC models. Not only environment-friendly tech is possible, but also necessary when facing the harsh reality of climate change.

2. Energy efficiency: Your bills and the grid will thank you. Australian citizens have been suffering from huge price spikes in the last few years, and the trend doesn’t seem to be reaching a foreseeable end. Amidst crossfire declarations between the government and companies, it is the people that suffers the most, and a plausible solution is to go out and look for an energy-efficient air conditioning system - which can save you a whopping 30% to 50%!

Innovation in AC tech works magic when it comes to electricity consumption, and a new, efficient AC system can be the answer to the rising electricity prices.

3. Health issues: It has been reported that poorly maintained AC cooling towers can be a source of the ‘Legionnaire’s disease’, an aggressive type of pneumonia that often requires hospitalization. You can either consult about AC maintenance with proper technicians, or cut to the chase and get a new, safe system for the years to come.

4. Dropping installation costs: Both system and air conditioning installation costs have dropped during the past decade. Once considered luxury items, air conditioning systems are now fairly ubiquitous, and prices have accommodated to this new reality: if a company asks too much, another company will do the job for less. There’s never been a cheaper time for installing a new system!

For those who have old AC systems, it would be good to check both its environmental and maintenance status; a technician will quickly tell you if your AC is worth keeping or not. Either way, do keep in mind that new AC systems will be friendlier with the environment, more efficient at consuming energy and less risky when it comes to strange, airborne diseases.

If your HVAC system is aged, particularly if it’s more than 10 years old, it is recommended to invest in a brand new high-efficiency air conditioning Coolbest Aircon. Technical improvements in the past few years have increased the energy efficiency of cooling systems and you should have the ability to fully recover the cost of a completely new air conditioning.
