Leah Chandler, family and kids fitness expert and founder of Kids Fit Australia shares her ideas for putting a spring into your families step...

1. Walk, Play and Talk!
Enjoy the world around you, take in the sights, talk about the fun you can have as a family now that spring is here! Remember…always finish with a game or hanging out at the playground for some fun with the kids!

2. Game Day!
Pick some fun games that are easy to play like tag, dodgeball, hide and seek, modified soccer and have some fun with the whole family!  Remember the aim of the game is to enjoy each other’s company and be active!  This can be in the backyard, down at the park, beach or wherever you would like to go!

3. Dance Off!
Chuck a funky play list together that the whole family can appreciate and have some fun getting your groove on!  Again, this can be indoors, outdoors…. whatever works on the day!

4. Neighborhood Family Fun!
Get the families together in your neighborhood and have a fun games and sports day down at the closest park!  Everyone bring a plate to share for some morning tea or lunch!

5. Gardening Bonanza!
Let the whole family pick a project for the garden that will not only be fun to do, but will have fabulous rewards at the end for everyone! Building a cubby house and planting a beautiful garden around it is just one idea!  The end result will be worth it!

6. Cook up a Storm!
Let each family member pick a few easy healthy spring recipes and have some fun cooking for the day!  Remember, everyone loves to feel included and everyone loves good food!

7. Relax with Nature!
Pick a quiet, shady place in nature and take a rug for all the family to relax on.  Look quietly at the scenery around you, read a book or listen to relaxing music.  Time to recharge the mind and body!
