If you wake up in the morning feeling more tired than you did when you got in bed, then it’s likely that something is messing with your sleep. In many cases, your sleeping environment could be the main factor that is preventing you from getting a quality night’s sleep, every night. The problem with this is that when your sleeping environment is poor, you’re going to suffer not just from tiredness but with a whole host of additional problems that could occur as a result, such as migraines, arthritis, back and neck pain, poor mental health, and even weight gain to name a few. So, what can you do to improve your sleep environment and ensure that you are enjoying a great sleep every night?

Let’s find out.

Tip #1. Change Your Mattress

If your mattress isn’t supporting you properly, then it can lead to a whole range of problems. Along with that, sleeping on a poor-quality mattress can cause you to be unable to get suitably comfortable at night, which can prevent you from falling asleep. So, investing in a high-quality mattress that offers just the right amount of support and firmness is essential. Many people find that memory foam mattresses are the best since they mold to your body to give optimal support.

Tip #2. Upgrade Your Pillows

Along with the type of support that you get from your mattress, don’t forget about your pillows when it comes to making your sleeping environment more comfortable. The type of pillow that you need will depend on whether you prefer to sleep on your back, side, or front. For back sleepers, it’s vital to have a pillow that properly supports your neck, otherwise, it’s going to be difficult to get comfortable at night and there’s a higher chance of waking up sore and stiff. Check out this back sleeper pillow review.

Tip #3. Keep it Clean and Tidy

A cluttered sleeping environment can interfere with your sleep in more ways than you might realize. If your bedroom is always a bit messy, then this can actually make it harder for you to wind down at night. Using smart storage in your room to ensure that there is plenty of open space and clutter is kept out of view will give you less to focus on when you’re trying to wind down and make falling asleep an easier process.

Tip #4. Use Essential Oils

Lastly, the type of scents in your sleeping environment can have a huge impact on the quality of your sleep. Using an essential oil diffuser in your room with calming oils such as lavender or chamomile can make a massive difference when it comes to getting relaxed at night. You might also want to consider using an essential oil spray on your bed linens that will allow you to fully inhale the relaxing scents as you fall asleep.
